Hmmm maybe that’s why we love it so much. All that arrested development and stuff. We don’t go in for the cutesy aspect, nope. But we haven’t gone fully as creepy as we want to because of the Bean’s age and her friends. They love coming over for Halloween and we get a little more macabre every year.
James has been plans to add a gruesome ghost floating above the house (which we can now that the roof isn’t falling in) remake the spider web (not to Halloweeners everwhere—do not wash/dry a soft rope in the washing machine once it has been tied into a web—it becomes a gordian knot of doom) and possibly we’re going to add a witchlike cauldron set up as well.
I hope on Sunday to finish a bunch of the inside cleaning so we I can take you on a tour of the inside Halloween. But like I’ve said previously—we decorate every year inside and out and things just don’t get put away. Like the folks who leave up their Christmas tree until February—actually no it’s more like, slowly but surely we’re becoming the house where Vincent Price and Vampira had their Edward Scissorhands Lovechild (or maybe I should say Lenore?) and lived happily ever after. Our house doesn’t look like the Addams Family on the outside (oh how I wish it did, we should have held out for that) but it is getting more like that on the inside.
Here are our current preparations.
