A wise old owl sat on an oak; The more he saw the less he spoke; The less he spoke the more he heard; Why aren’t we like that wise old bird?

DECEMBER 10 – WISDOM

Wisdom. What was the wisest decision you made this year, and how did it play out?

Huh…Leaving the M.A.T. program and going back into technology but this time in education.

It’s aggravating, exhilarating, tiring, rewarding and full of possibility. It isn’t glamorous, but it is meaningful. I’m not sure it is the ultimate stop on the career journey, but I’m glad I’m doing it.

I guess I’m looking at it from November of 2009 to December of this year.  Probably because of Nablopomo. That always marks the beginning of the end of my year, or has for the last five.

It took most of this year but the other thing I’ve decided is that if I feel discomfort at the thought of a situation, I’m going to pay attention to that feeling  and well, not go. This isn’t easy because I’m normally kind of reticent about social situations and I don’t want the “I have a bad feeling about this,” feeling to become confused with the I’m being asocial. Because a certain amount of socializing is good and enjoyable. Every time I haven’t paid attention to that feeling it has not turned out well, or nearly.

This didn’t get posted yesterday as I got to see a dear friend I hadn’t seen in ages and because my leg was hurting way too much and I had to go to sleep. It’s getting better, I’m just pushing a little and it’s three limps forward, one back.
