Amble out from love ~Issa

Amble out from love ~Issa

“Arise from sleep, old cat,
And with great yawns and stretchings…
Amble out for love”
― Issa, Japanese Haiku: Two Hundred Twenty Examples of Seventeen-Syllable Poems

From this article on writing Haiku:

I’ll try the first three, compare, contrast and association.

A misting rain falls

Our child sleeping quietly

Now we can exhale.

Weeks of dislike churn

broken hearted news delivered

All wish to turn back.

Too much to be done

Too little strength to move much

Frantic work and full stop

The rules no longer require 5-7-5 but I try to stick with that as much as possible. The moment will supercede, however.
