Death’s in the goodbye….Anne Sexton

December 5 – Let Go. What (or whom) did you let go of this year? Why? (Author: Alice Bradley)

I don’t want to write about this.

Why?

What have I let go?

We gave away all of the things that we had saved for a second child. All the little clothes. All the small toys, all the bottles, all the practice spoons. All the many brief things that make up a baby’s first few months on the earth.

Does that mean I let go?

Do I have any choice?

    oops, hit the wrong button.

I think if there’s anyone out there who deserved to have things work out differently it would be you and J. You two are wonderful people who I am happy to have in my life. <3 You!!!!!

  2. It’s hard, coming to terms with the fact that your family might not be what you’ve always pictured it to be… I’m in a similar boat; I’m just no good at pregnancy, and while getting pregnant wasn’t the challenge for us, staying so for the full 40 weeks was (Max was born @ 28 wks) and the toll on my body was one we can’t pay again.
I’m not letting go of my longing for a second child, but I’m coming to peace with the one amazing boy I have. (((HUGS)))
